In almost 400 million years of turbulent geological history, more than 1,200 different types of rocks have formed in the sub-basin of the Sava River. More than 300 pebbles are on display at the fire station in Breg pri Litiji. The pebble exhibition is complemented by the Our Birds exhibition, which you can also listen to while enjoying the view.
The Vovk Homestead in the village Gradišče breeds livestock and produces organic food. Children enjoy the summer camps, as they spend time in harmony with the animals and learn about the herbs and spices that grow in the herb garden. Visitors are also enchanted by the beautiful view. You can rent a covered and furnished picnic area, which is slightly away from the village, where you can relax in a natural environment. It is also possible to stay the night in a hayloft, on a hayrack or in a tent.
The Institute of 16 Horseshoes (“Zavod 16 podkvic”) invites you to its ranch located in Zgornji Hotič, by the Sava River. They organise horseback riding lessons for beginners and more experienced riders. Great emphasis is put on riding tours and hippotherapy, conducted by external licensed experts, suitable for persons with special needs.
At the Litija Equestrian Club, both adults and children can learn the basics of western riding in individual beginner’s classes. You can improve your skills in advanced classes by learning a more precise control and how to lead the horse, and also the preparation of the horse for work, horse breaking and individual elements of western riding.
The rafting club Vidra Litija organizes unforgettable rafting trips on the Sava River, as well as other Slovenian and foreign rivers. They run a successful kayak school, and rent their boats and rafting equipment. Their programme is original, memorable and completely tailored to your needs.
