The parish Church of St. Nicholas (“cerkev Sv. Nikolaja”) stands in the centre of Litija. The church expanded in individual phases; from the chapel to the church with the installation of the bell tower and sacristy in the west-east direction, from the chapel to the church with the design of the church nave to the north. This gave the church the image of a cross. At the beginning of the 20th century, the church was extended to the north, so that a choir could be added.
