Litkov Garden is a green oasis in the heart of Litija.
This is a multipurpose park on Rozman Square in Litija, designed for socializing, learning, playing, and relaxation for people of all ages. The park was designed by gardener and landscape architect Miha Kos of Park Zeleni raj, who drew inspiration from Litija’s natural and historical features.
Spanning approximately 1,300 square meters, the area features a rich mix of perennials (more than 2,700 of them!), native trees and shrubs, walking paths, an outdoor classroom, an insect hotel, a sensory trail for the youngest visitors, and elements that remind visitors of the Sava River, the surrounding hills, and the area’s mining heritage. In the park, you can see the characteristic bend of the Sava River, three surrounding hills—Sitarjevec, Veliki vrh, and Svibno—and the Sitarjevec Mine.
A stone statue of Litka, the town’s mascot, created by the academic sculptor Zlatko Rudolf, gives the park a special character.
