Beneath its surface lies an extraordinary wealth of ores and minerals. Get to know them when visiting the Sitarjevec mine, which is the richest in Slovenia in terms of minerals.

- In the nearby City Museum of Litija, enter the virtual world and connect with the mining, shipping and other heritage of these places;
- Visit the Sitarjevec mine, which is the biggest attraction of Litija’s underground, with over 60 types of colourful minerals and the fastest growing stalactites in the world;
- Cycle towards the mighty Neo-Gothic church of St. Martin in Šmartno pri Litiji, where, according to the legend, a terrible accident happened to the miners from Sitarjevec, from which they managed to escape on St. Martin’s name day. In gratitude, they built him a church;
- Visit the Sava River Pebbles Permanent Collection which you can peruse at the fire station in Breg pri Litiji. The exhibition tells a story as old as time, with more than 300 pebbles on display.
- Relax and finish the day in Paternoster homestead in Tenetiše, where you will experience a true culinary masterpiece.

How to reach us: By car or train, on which you can load your bike (departure from Ljubljana at 10:55, arrival in Litija and reception by the local guide at 11:25, return train from Litija at 17:36).
Reccomendations: The cycling tour is not demanding; the complete route is 13 km long. We recommend cycling gear and warm, appropriate clothes and footwear for visiting the mine (10°C, 100 % dampness).
