Badjura trail was officially opened in 1974. It is named after Rudolf Badjura (1881–1963), who was born in Litija. Badjura devoted his entire life to tourism, and his passion was skiing. He wrote several mountaineering and hiking guides and a handbook titled Smučar (Skier).

It winds through the most beautiful surrounding hills and forms a natural wreath around the Litija Valley and the Šmartno area. The checkpoints along the trail are: Ostrež above Renke, Velika Preska, Javorje by Javorski pil, Tisje, Bogenšperk, Javorje, Pristava nad Stično, Obolno, Janče, Cicelj, Miklavž, Spodnja Slivna – GEOSS, Vače, Slemšek, and Zasavska Sveta gora (Zasavje Holy Mountain). It is one of the mountain trails registered with the Slovenian Mountaineering Association. The trail is easy and suitable for all types of hikers. Each hiker can choose the order and direction of visiting the checkpoints. Hikers confirm their visits of the checkpoints in a logbook, which can be purchased at some of the stops or at the office of the Litija Mountaineering Association. Based on a correctly completed logbook, hikers receive a commemorative badge, and for multiple completions of the trail, special plaques. In 2024, 24 logbooks were confirmed. SPECIAL NOTICE: The trail from Renke to Rovišče has been abandoned due to an impassable bridge in Renke. A detour is possible via the village Sava.
